Annex 1: detail of Internships and Professional Experience

· Self-employed since June 1991.
· Tutor
work since 2008: starting with the subjects she studied in the undergraduate
course, new related subjects have been added, thus increasing the scope of the
subjects she teaches each semester.
· IT consulting and support,
programming, training, and tutoring. Her work consists of the
following:
§
Analysis of technological needs (information technology,
communications, electricity) based on the knowledge of the activities developed
or to be developed by each entity.
§
Advice of the best solutions in equipment, programs, and services,
to meet technological needs.
§
Establish all contacts with suppliers of equipment, programs, and
services, thus ensuring the defence of customers' interests and a competent
technical relationship with suppliers.
§
Installation, configuration and maintenance of equipment and
programs.
§
Sometimes, in situations there are no programs available on the
market to address the needs, she makes the necessary programs (Annex 4:
software programs developed since 1991, in Windows environment).
§
Support users in clarifying doubts and solving usage problems (Annex 3: some software, hardware, and
services in which she has experience).
§
Elaborating materials and teaching: study the subjects, plan the course,
prepare the supporting material according to the needs of the recipients and,
teach.
· SGO Formação Lda.:
sporadic collaboration in 1989. She taught MS-DOS and WordStar.
· SGO Informática, Lda.:
02/12/1988 to 31/05/1991. The function exerted consisted of support
customers in the pre-sale and after-sale phases. She worked as a consultant in planning
and selecting the informatic solutions (hardware and software), she
participated in the installation, she elaborated and taught custom professional
training, she solved doubts/problems of use whenever customers requested it, at
the level of software and hardware. The geographical coverage was
all over the country and therefore she provided services to clients from Porto
to Loulé (city hall). She taught several clients such as CTT, Luso-German
Chamber of Commerce, among many others.
§
She installed Novell NetWare networks (hardware and software) and
XENIX/UNIX operating systems, as well as the necessary application
software.
§
She has successfully advised several clients regarding the best
hardware/software solutions for the various situations presented to her.
§
She programmed in BASIC, dBASE III Plus and Clipper in MS-DOS and
NetWare network.
§
She had contact with the OS/2 operating system.
§
She developed documentation and taught courses at Novell's NetWare
network OS and SCO's XENIX/UNIX System V.
· Tempo Real, Lda.:
11/01/1988 to 30/11/1988. The function exerted consisted of developing
and teaching custom courses of MS-DOS, WordStar, Lotus 123, Novell Netware.
Steps included: Read the manuals in English and test the programs; Plan the course;
Elaborate the teacher's manual, the slides, the students’ manual, the manual of
exercises and the solutions; Teach.
· Internship,
during the academic years of 1986/87 and 1987/88, at INESC (Instituto de
Engenharia de Sistemas Computadores). In the projects:
· Operating System Support Processor using the Assembler of
processors 8031 and 8051, integrated in the Project SMD (Distributed Modular
Systems), which was at the base of the ELENA (Office Automation) network, installed in CTT stations.
· Multibus II, also integrated in the SMD project.
